Serbian futsal director: It is unacceptable to play the postponed match against Finland!

The director of the Serbian futsal Bojan Pavličević has stated for the local sports newspaper „Sportski žurnal“ that they will play postponed second-leg match against Finland only if they are „forced to play it“.

„It was unprecedented. The decision to postpone the second match was made by Finland's government, although UEFA's health protocols are clear. If there are infected players, they are simply replaced by other players, considering that we all registered 25 players for the barrage matches. The Croats could not count on a few national team members who tested positive, but they had to play“.

Serbia won the first match of the World Cup 2021 playoffs with 1:0 in Kragujevac. The second-leg match that should have been played on 10th November was postponed since one Finish player was tested positive to COVID-19.

>> BREAKING: Finland - Serbia postponed!

According to FutsalPlanet, Finland's FA proposed to play the postponed match on December 9th.

„It is unacceptable for us to play the match on a new date. The health protocols are clear, we have fulfiled everything that was needed to appear on the field at the scheduled time. Playing a game on the new date can only happen if, literally, we are forced to play it!“.

We have to wait and see how FIFA will solve this problem…
