Earlier this week, from 17-19 November, 3 Nations Tournament was held in Uzbekistan (Olmaliq and Tashkent) between three "Stans" - Uzbekistan (hosts), Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. All three matches were tight and hosts won the tournament defeating Kyrgyzstan 2:1 (1:1 HT) and Tajikistan 4:2 (2:2 HT). Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan draw 1:1 (1:1 HT), therefore, Kyrgyz won a second-place since the had better goal-difference than the Tajiks.
All three teams are preparing for the AFC Futsal Championship that will be held from 23 March to 3 April 2021 in Kuwait (originally it should have been played in Turkmenistan in 2020).
Uzbekistan (28th on Futsal World Ranking) will play in a group with Bahrain, China and Indonesia. Kyrgyzstan (43rd on FWR) will play against hosts Kuwait, Japan and Lebanon. Tajikistan (62nd on FWR) will play against Turkmenistan, Vietnam and Oman.
Best two teams from every of four groups will advance to quarter-finals. Semifinalists of the AFC Futsal Championship and the winner of the Fifth place match will qualify for the FIFA Futsal World Cup (12 September - 3 October 2021).
