After their first match in the Russian Cup quarterfinal ended in a somewhat surprisingly big 8-2 win by Torpedo over KRPF, these two teams met again yesterday to decide who will progress to the Cup semis.
We knew KPRF will go on an all-out attack, but we couldn't expect the drama that unfold. First half ended in a 3-1 KPRF lead. However, it would turn out to be a decisive moment in the match when Torpedo managed to score their third goal by 29th minute.
KPRF put everything they've got to catch Torpedo's lead. In a way, they managed just that - they caught it, won the match 9-3, and had an aggregate score of 11-11.
However, because Torpedo scored one goal away more than KPRF, it is Torpedo that progresses to the semi final of the Russian Cup!
Torpedo will play Tyumen, while Yugra will play Yekaterinburg in the Cup semi-finals.
