Officially, the Week 14 of the Spanish LNFS has started yesterday with three matches. After four games without a win, Levante finally got back on track with a 3-1 win over Cordoba. Osasuna Magna and Valdepenas drew 2-2 and shared the points, while visiting Antequera recorded a big 7-4 win against Burela.
Levante back with winning ways
After two loses against the direct competitors for the first place (Cartagena 1:5, Palma Futsal 2:3) and being winless for four straight games, Levante finally recorded a win. However, the match against Cordoba did not start in the best way for Levante.
Montero opened the scoring for visiting Cordoba by the middle of the first half after a nice individual effort on the right side of the pitch. Despite having a few good interventions, Cordoba's goalkeeper Prieto was unable to stop Rescia's power shot that equalized the score for Levante.
Both teams entered the second half much more cautiously than the first, not wanting to take too many risks in attacking phase. Nevertheless, both teams had scoring opportunities that they did not convert into goals.
Until some five minutes before full-time Cordoba's Del Moral got sent off by the referee. First he was a step short to put the ball away for the goal and then he did not leave the ball alone after it had gone out of play. Referee deemed fit to show him a red card for that.
Cordoba did not last long with such disadvantage. Rafa Usin put the home team in the lead soon after. Cordoba had to play without the goalkeeper and Rubi Lemos used that to score on empty net before full time making the final score 3-1 for Levante.
Despite recording a win, Levante are currently second in the LNFS with leading Palma Futsal being just two points ahead.
Osasuna and Valdepenas share points
Osasuna and Valdepenas currently find themselves on places leading to the playoff with the same number of points. With a big difference being that Valdepenas has five matches less than Osasuna making them a somewhat of a favorite in this duel.
And they dully justified that status at the beginning of the match. After the first ten minutes, visiting Valdepenas had a 2-0 lead thanks to goals by de Matos and Gonzales.
Just before half-time, Osasuna's Alves scored for the home team in hopes they can equalize in the second half.
Which they managed to do in proper futsal fashion. In the dying moments of the match, Linhares equalized for Osasuna setting the final result of 2-2.
Antequera wins big away
After beating Real Betis last week, visiting Antequera again took all three points from Burela. Both teams have now played all of their matches. After this match, Burela is seventh, holding a playoff spot, while Antequera is 15th, holding a playout spot. Point differences between these two is just three points which shows just how crowded things are in LNFS at the moment.
Thanks to a very early goal by Fuentes, Antequera took the lead. By the end of the first ten minutes, Antequera had a 3-0 lead thanks to goals Amoros Martinez and Miguel. It was the result at half-time as well.
Burela had to be more aggressive in the front and Antequera managed to punish such mentality with two more goals in the space of few minutes by Alvarito and Vargas.
By the time when Burela started scoring - it was too late. Despite scoring four goals in total thanks to two goals by Valhermoso and one by Teijeiro and Rodriguez, Antequera's Oscar and Joaki only confirmed Antequera's important away 7-4 win! Antequera's coaching staff will certainly be pleased that seven different players found the back of the net yesterday.
LNFS' Week 14 continues today with five matches on the program, with match against O Parrulo and Cartagena being postponed.
