"The AFC has also decided to cancel the AFC Futsal Championship Kuwait 2020," stands in the latest announcement by the AFC.
This means that the AFC Asian Futsal Cup has been officially canceled. It was also agreed that Kuwait will hold this championship in 2022.
No specific date has been set.
AFC will now decide on five teams that they'll send as Asian representatives to the Futsal World Cup in Lithuania later this year.
Dato’ Windsor John, the AFC General Secretary, said: “We are grateful for the support of the hosts for these competitions who agreed with the AFC the need to safeguard the interests of all stakeholders during this time of uncertainty and taking into consideration the risks of the current pandemic.”
