Croatia wins against Albania to start the EURO qualifiers

After a loss against Czechia in the Futsal World Cup playoff, Croatia bounced back with a win to start their EURO campaign. Last night in Varaždin, Marinko Mavrović's troops defeated Albania with a 4-1 win.

Albania stunned Croatia on a counter-attack at the beginning of the match and took the lead after a nice play that was finished by Selmanaj.

Although Albania has one of the most experienced teams in these qualifiers, they couldn't hold Croatia. In the last minutes of the first half, Marinović and Perišić turned things around for Croatia.

To confirm the victory, Marinović added one more goal, followed by a closing statement from Matošević to put the final result of 4-1 on the scoreboard.

Croatia travels to face Denmark on Saturday, while Albania will face Ukraine at home on Sunday.

The EURO qualifiers continue today with five duels:

  • Moldavia - Greece
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina - North Macedonia
  • Montenegro - Italy
  • Romania - Serbia
  • Belgium - Finland
