A big derby match was played yesterday night in the Czech Republic between SK Interobal Plzen who welcomed FK Chrudim, Czech's Champions League representative. Two teams at the top of the table with the same record and number of points played each other for the pole position and we could have witnessed a 6-goal thriller that ended in a 3-3 draw.
The first half of the match ended without goals as both teams tested their opponent. In the second half, both teams decided to push for important three points.
Peter Kozár opened the scoring for Interobal Plzen in the 22nd minute. The score was equalized just a few minutes later thanks to an effort by Chrudim's Max.
And by the middle of the second half - Chrudim turned things around thanks to a goal by Everton. Nevertheless, their lead did not last long. Just two minutes later, Seidler equalized the score once again for Plzen.
With less than 5 minutes left on the clock, Drozd scored a goal for the visiting Chrudim to put them on a brink of victory. However, Czech international Holy equalized the match for Plzen one final time and both teams had to be satisfied with a point as they continue to 'share' the top position in the Czech futsal league table.
In the next three days, FK Chrudim will play two more matches in the Czech league against Helas Brno and Česká Lípa before traveling to Lisbon to play against Sporting CP in UEFA Futsal Champions League Round of 16 on 20 February.
SK Interobal Plzen is also in for a crowded schedule with three matches in the next 10 days against Česká Lípa, Slavia Prague, and Melnik.
