Argentine futsal Super Cup will end today with a clash between San Lorenzo and Newell's Old Boys after these two teams overcame their obstacles in the semifinal. The final will be televised live on TNT Sports and it starts at 13:00 (local time).
Newell's Old Boys (p)2-2 Boca Juniors
After more than 20 years of absence from the first division, the champions of 1987 and 1994 and just recently promoted back to the top flight of the Argentine futsal system, Newell's Old Boys have faced the current champions Boca Juniors and - won a place in the Super Cup final!
Newell's put themselves ahead with a goal from Bilan de la Paz, but Boca turned it around with goals from Juan Pablo Cuello and Sebastián Iribarne. Two minutes from the end, Los Leprosos tied it thanks to an effort by Renato Martínez Conde. Newell's showed more composure on the penalties which they won 4-3.
San Lorenzo 7-4 Villa La Ñata
With a fantastic start in the match, San Lorenzo had a 5-1 lead already by halftime. By the end of the match, both teams scored a couple of goals but Ciclón's victory never came into question.
Jorge Cuervo scored twice for San Lorenzo, with Tomás Pescio, Felipe Echavarría, Dylan Vargas, Lucas Bolo Alemany and goalkeeper Brian Steccato all adding one goal each.
