Italy qualified for Euro 2022 after defeating Belgium, convincing victory for Serbia

In Group 4 of EURO 2022 qualifiers, North Macedonia lost in Skopje against neighboring Serbia 1:6. The home side took the lead in the tenth minute through Taulant Ismaili, but Serbia equalized just 20 seconds later when Marko Pršić converted a penalty. Serbia went on a scoring spree with 3 goals in the space of 3 minutes. North Macedonia's Dragan Petrović scored an own goal in the 13th minute, Strahinja Petrov made it 1-3 in the 15th minute, and Jovan Lazarević scored the last goal of the half a minute later. Lazarević had a great chance to score another but missed his penalty in the 18th minute.

This big win takes Serbia from fourth to second, just behind Bosnia and Herzegovina and Romania. North Macedonia dropped to the bottom of the group, and it will be hard to climb back with their next opponent being Bosnia and Herzegovina on the 8th of April. Serbia will play a day later against Romania.

The top two times squared off in Group 7 when Italy took on Belgium in Prato, with the Italians coming out victorious (4:1) and secured qualification for Euro 2022. Even though clear outsiders, Belgium scored first in the 11th minute through Steven Dillion. Italy made it 1-1 just before halftime with a goal from Alex Merlim. Vieira shone in the second half with two goals coming in quick succession in the 28th and the 30th minute. The final result was put by Tonidanel in 37th.

This win means Italy has qualified for EURO 2022 with four wins in four games while Belgium stays the second, levelled with Finland, which toppled Montenegro 6-1 yesterday. A repeat of today's game, Group 7 will be played on the 8th of April.
