ITALY: Real San Giuseppe convincible against Meta Catania

In a midweek game of Futsal Serie A, Real San Giuseppe beat ASD Meta Catania 4-1 in the small Italian city of Cercola. This game is a postponed one from the 4th round. An important win for the home side to keep them close to Saviatesta Mantova in the 10th spot that secures top-flight status. San Giuseppe took the lead in the 7th minute through Ahmed Sababti. Meta equalized in the 13th minute, Spaniard Josiko made it 1-1. Two late first-half goals made things easier for San Giuseppe. Sebastian Vargas Chano scored first, with Alex following. The second half brought only one goal, and it came from Sababti, for the end result of 4-1.


Even though Meta Catania lost, they are still comfortable for the playoffs, with 7 points separating them and Todis in 9th. Real San Giuseppe hopes they will get out of the playout positions and stay in Serie A. This win should keep them positive as they now have the same amount of points and a game in hand on Saviatesta Mantova with Todis just one point away. Up next for Meta is a home game against Avellino, while San Giuseppe will host CMB Matera.
