Four games of the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2020 Qualifiers were played yesterday, and we have seen some exciting matches. In the second leg of Group C, Azerbaijan shocked favorites Russia with 4:3 victory and brought the vice-champion to the brink of not reaching the World Cup.
In the second match, Croatia struggled against Slovakia and secured their second victory (3:2) minute before the end, scoring from the penalty.
On Saturday, Croatia plays against Russia and Azarbaijan against Slovakia. If Russia and Azarbaijan win, a circle of three teams will be made with the same amount of points, and the goal difference will decide who will secure the World Cup and who will go to playoffs.
In the first round of Group A, that is played in Portugal, Finland had 1:0 and 2:1 lead against Italy, but the match eventually ended 2:2. In the second game, Belarus had 1:0 lead against European champions Portugal until the 28th minute, but hosts turned over the match and eventually won 2:1.
The second leg of Group A will be held today in Portugal, and the last lego f Group C will be held on Saturday in Osijek (Croatia). Group B (Serbia-hosts, Spain, France, and Ukraine) starts on Saturday, and Group D (Czech Republic – hosts, Slovenia, Kazakhstan, and Romania) starts on Sunday.
