Immediately after UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO 2021 qualifying draw has been made, qualifying round playoff matches for men’s EURO in 2022 in the Netherlands have also been drawn!
Nine UEFA EURO preliminary qualifying round group runners-up and five best third-placed teams from the recent World Cup qualifiers entered the 2022 EURO qualifying round playoffs, to be held from 8th to 15th of April. Winners of these seven two-legged ties will progress to the main qualifying group stage to be held throughout 2021.
Draw set the unseeded teams to play the first leg of the tie at home. The playoff picture is as follows:
Turkey v Greece
San Marino v Denmark
Israel v Cyprus
Switzerland v Germany
England v North Macedonia
Bulgaria v Armenia
Montenegro v Lithuania
Lots of interesting fixtures are ahead of us and it will be a nail-biter to see which of these teams will progress to the main qualifying group stage.
It is also worth noting that San Marino and Israel find themselves in this qualifying playoff stage having progressed through a qualifying round for the first time.
