Pato secures a late victory against Atlantico

Third match between Pato and Atlantico would decide which team qualifies directly to the final and which team will play Corinthians in the semi-final.

Pato took the lead at the beggining of the match when Atlantico defenders did not react in the best possible way and eventually got the ball deflected in their own net. Few minutes later, Atlantico's Sinesio had no problem of putting the ball away to equalize the score.

And then, literally in the next possesion, Gessé stole one ball for Atlantico and after a good individual effort put Atlantico in front!

However, just before half-time, Thiaguinho found the back of the net for Pato after a very nicely placed shot off the post. Team went to half-time with 2-2 on the scoreboard.

In the second half we didn't see any goals until the very end. Because Pato drew in the first match of the Super Cup, they have put the extra man in court to try and push for the victory. Their efforts paid off just 30 seconds before full time.

Again, Thiaguinho had a well placed shot that landed right next to the post and Atlantico goalkeeper was unable to stop the shot, making it 3-2 for Pato. Pato took the lead and three points from this match. More importantly, they secured their spot in the Super Cup final directly.

Barbosinha put Atlantico in the lead at the start of the second half with another powerful shot that Careca was unable to stop. In 33th minute of the match, after a nice team play, Corinthians' Deives scored and equalized this dramatic match once again to make it 3-3 and took it to extra-time.
