In an Egyptian city called the 6th of October, a 2021 Arab Futsal Cup started yesterday with two matches being held. This marks the start of the fifth edition of this tournament that will take place from 20 to 30 May.
Eight teams are participating in this event and they are Bahrein, Comoros, Egypt, Kuwait, Mauritania, Morroco, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Except for Egypt and Morroco, everyone else is a debutant in this compeptition.
All matches will be played at Dr. Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall and the teams are divided into two groups of four. Every team will play all teams from their group once before the best two teams in each group progress through to the next stage.
The tournament opened yesterday with matches in Group A, where Egypt, Bahrein, Kuwait, and Mauritania are in contention.
An African powerhouse Egypt kicked off the tournament against Mauritania. Although Egypt won 8-1, the biggest positive from this match is that this was Mauritania's first-ever official futsal match. Welcome to the world of futsal, hope you have a long and fruitful experience.
