Italy: Italservice Pesaro wins the futsal Scudetto

For the second time in their history, Italservice Pesaro is the Italian futsal champion! Last year the champion was not proclaimed due to Covid, but Italservice Pesaro won the title in 2019. This time around they have repeated this success defeating Meta Catania Bricocity two times in two days.

Despite plenty of problems caused by the pandemic, many postponements, and final changes to the playoff format, the team from Pesaro deservedly lifted the Italian futsal trophy after also being the most successful side in the league phase of the championship.

Catania was left almost without chances after the first match of the doubleheader that Pesaro won with a big 7-1 result. Cristian Borruto was the star of the evening with three goals. Marcelinho scored two, while Honorio and Miarelli added one each. The sole scorer for Catania was Josiko in the dying seconds of the match.

In the return leg - another victory for Pesaro. Despite taking the lead two times in the match thanks to efforts by Josiko and Baisel, Pesaro eventually won the match 3-2 thanks to goals by Borruto, Cuzzolino, and Taborda.

Pesaro will once again (for the third consecutive time) represent Italy in the UEFA Futsal Champions League.

FutsalFeed staff wishes to congratulate everyone at Italservice Pesaro who was involved in this success!
