The 2008 CONCACAF champions will take part in their fifth FIFA Futsal World Cup in Lithuania. This will be Guatemala's fourth consecutive World Cup appearance, as they have qualified there as medalist from CONCACAF Futsal Championship every time so far. In 2000, Guatemala hosted the FIFA Futsal World Cup recording a victory against Kazakhstan. Earlier this year they were the hosts of the CONCACAF qualifying tournament, which saw them finish third in their respected region.
