After Croatia won both of their opening matches in Group 1 with 4:1 wins (against Albania and Denmark), the other group favourite Ukraine dominantly entered the qualification phase as well. Ukraine defeated Albania 10:3 in the match played yesterday (Sunday) in Tirana.
After Ukraine scored two early goals, Albania played well and managed to equalize in 13' after Brahimi's goal. However, Ukraine scored twice until the half-time (4:2), and demolished opponents in the second part with six more goals. Ukraine's hero was Zavrych who scored a hattrick.
Two matches that should have been played today (Latvia vs Switzerland and Norway vs Czechia) were postponed. Qualification for 2022 Euro continues on Tuesday with six matches.
