After plenty of organizational problems caused by Covid, The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) qualification tournament for the Futsal World Cup has been canceled. In its place, AFC decided to send the three best-ranked teams in the confederation to the World Cup and they are Iran, Japan, and Uzbekistan.
Four teams were given a chance to qualify for the major tournament through a home-away match system. Iraq - Thailand is the first pair, while the other one is Vietnam - Lebanon. All matches will be played in the same venue.

The first leg of the first match has been played today. Thailand defeated Iraq 7-2 in the first match where Iraq was officially the host.
The return match between these two teams will take place on 25 May. In the meantime, Vietnam and Lebanon will play their first match on 23 May, while the return leg is on schedule also for 25 May.
