A great tournament has come to a close. A great tournament with an equally engaging and interesting final match that was resolved only after extra time. For the first time in their history - San Lorenzo is the Futsal Libertadores champion!
In fact, this is only the second time in almost twenty editions of Futsal Libertadores that the champion is a team outside of Brazil. Carlos Barbosa was the defeated side in the final. They couldn't reach their record-breaking title, but they did present a lot of talent and quality to the futsal fans worldwide.

Carlos Barbosa 3-4 San Lorenzo
One of the most dangerous San Lorenzo players, Tomás Pescio, was in form in the big final as well. He scored two goals for his team, with Galle Rodríguez joining him on the scoresheet.
However, the goal that today everyone is talking about is a work of art from Juan Menzeguez. He scored a perfect volley shot after a corner kick to put San Lorenzo in front in the extra time, and eventually for the trophy.

Murilo, Dener, and Pedro Rei scored for Carlos Barbosa, who was chasing San Lorenzo's lead throughout the match. Pedro Rei equalized few minutes before full time, but the Brazilian team couldn't find a space to turn things around.

Corinthians 1-3 Delta Te Quiero
Saturday proved to be a bad day in the tournament for the Brazilian teams. In the match that decided the third-placed team in Futsal Libertadores, the Venezuelan champions Delta Te Quiero pipped Corinthians and produced another, somewhat surprising, result.
The robust Wilmer Cabarcas put Delta Te Quiero in the lead in the first half. Corinthians' Deives managed to equalize in the second half, but Nelson Bello quickly returned the lead back to the Venezuelan side.
Carlos Sanz later confirmed Delta Te Quiero's big victory and a third-place finish for his team!
