After recent developments in Italian futsal, where it was stated that brand Acqua e Sapone will leave futsal from the next season, another interesting development and name change could take place a bit further up north in the country.
It seems that recently relegated CDM Futsal Genoa will come under the auspices of a famous Italian football club Sampdoria.

The rumors about this 'takeover' were alive already last month, but some concrete information was recently revealed by calcioa5anteprima.com.

As reported, the meetings that paved the way to this cooperation were already held and it seems that from the next season, Sampdoria Futsal will play in Italian Futsal Seria A2.
Besides taking this historic name, the team will also field the colors and badge of the famous football club, as well.
CDM Genoa would still be in charge of the youth sections of the club and futsal academy for the next three years when a complete takeover by Sampdoria would take place on all levels.
