Another thrilling match was played yesterday between European champions Sporting CP and Benfica in the final series of the Portuguese futsal championship. Sporting CP 2-1 Benfica

After the initial testing out of the opponent, Diego Cavinato has put the ball behind the keeper after one corner kick and a very nice assist by Tomás Paçó, thus resulting in Sporting CP's lead in 6' of the match.

However, Silvestre Ferreira responded with a nice goal of his own after a quick transition to level the match.

In the second half, Erick Mendonça's shot proved to be crucial for Sporting's win. His shot got deflected from the post, rebounded from Benfica's goalie Diego Roncaglio and made its way toward the goal. The referee signaled the goal for Sporting, but the replay showed that the ball might not have passed the line in its entirety, which Diego Roncaglio tried to prove, but without success.

Nevertheless, the match result won't change and Sporting's head coach Nuno Dias considered that his team fully deserved to win the match, albeit with the smallest of margins.

Potentially the final match of the series will be played this Sunday. Sporting will get a chance to lift the trophy in their arch rivals' venue, while Benfica will be given a chance to survive and take it all the way to the fifth match decider.
