The Futsal Week U19 Spring Cup has finished its group stage and the playoff picture is set.
>>> Spain sits at top of Group A, crowded in Group B
In the first match of Day 3, France recorded the biggest victory in the tournament so far, defeating Moldova 10-0. French players did not let the 'foot off the pedal' for the entire match and Moldova couldn't cope.
The second match in Group A was between Spain and Serbia. Spain was looking to extend their 100% record and they did just that. Although Serbia proved to be a tough nut to crack, with a chance to get in front at the start of the match, once the scoreboard was open Spain was in control.
U19 Spring Cup continued with matches from exciting Group B. The first ones to take the court were players from Montenegro and Ukraine. The first half finished with a minimal Ukranian advantage, but in the second half, Montenegro couldn't cope with the attacking potential of Ukraine as the match finished in a secure 7-1 victory for the Yellow-and-the-Blue.
The final match of the group stage was contested between Croatia and Poland in a direct duel for the position that leads to the semifinal. Croatia pipped Poland with a 3-1 result, but in all fairness, it was a very close match that could have gone either way. Croatia in the end proved to be more concrete in the final phase and with some good defending secured the second position in Group B and their undefeated status.
Friday is a rest day and the tournament will continue on Saturday. Neither team is knocked out and all will get a chance to fight for the best possible position according to their group standings.
Serbia will play against Montenegro, and Poland will face Moldova to kick off their playoff for 5 - 8 position.
In the afternoon, Spain will play against hosts Croatia, and later Ukraine will face France in the semifinal and playoff for positions from 1 - 4.
All matches will be broadcasted on Futsal Week's Facebook page, where you can also check out the recordings of recently played matches, as well as much more information about the tournament.
